Hi friends, I took a Reliance India Mobile connection on April 5th.I was not able to receive incoming calls from land phones from starting to today (May 2, 2003). I don;t know how long this is going to last like this. When I called the customer care they told me it would be ok in a few days. But it is almost a month. Starting I was not able to make any outgoing calls to land phones, but it was ok after 2 days. That time also I was not able to make calls to land phones in my place. That problem was solved after 1 day. And for some days there was no problem in calling to land phones. But still I couldn’t receive any Incoming calls. From April 20 to today I was unable to call to any land phones. That time also I called the Customer Care and they told that it would be ok in a few days. But till today I’m not able to make any outgoing calls to land phones. From the starting itself I was not able to send messages to other networks. Then what is the use of making SMS Free!! I should also tell that when I’m not even to call to Emergency numbers like100 sometimes.
The R world was not always working at starting. But now is working properly. And now they have removed the R Mail from it. And many of the things which told will be in the R world is not there.
Many of the services, which they offered, are not available to me. Caller Line Identification Restriction (CLIR) is not available. Then the who called service, which sends a message with the list of callers, which called me when my phone was switched off, is also not available. Sending ring tones and icons is also not available to me.
Their customer care is good but it should me made available in all languages in India. Every time I call to tell some problem they ask me my name and address. And I have to tell them by each spelling of my name and my long address, as they don’t know my language, which is Malayalam. I don’t know why they need my address each time I call them. One day for some hours when I called the I was able to only hear something in Tamil only. And when I asked them they told that there maybe a section where only Tamilians are there.
My friends were asking me what is the use of a phone, which you cannot make any calls. Some were telling also that they may charge for SMS Message send to other networks. Now I think I shouldn’t have took the connection in a hurry. I thought a big company like Reliance won’t cheat us. We will wait to see what their next steps are.

Update on July 17:
Hi now I’m make calls to landphones and other networks.But still I cannot make calls to some places.I have not recieved my discount coupon yet, remeber I took my connection on April 5.Still I cannot send SMS messages to other networks.I think this is because sms is FrEe.I cannot call to my voice mail box.Still I cannot view my bill and I have not recieved it in my postal address.
