Bought a corporate connection in august 2009. It was the broadband plus data card. Cost me 2800 rupees and well I paid a bill of rupees 3000 and 1500 twice thanks to the tariff plans. I am so frustrated that with no regards to the grammar and writing format I am just throwing up here.
Reason why I gave it up.
speed-well it says on paper 3.1 mbps. The data transfer rate was well 125 kbps(pretty good) occasionally, say 10 minutes out of an hour. Oh yes! even with a signal strength of 90% the average transfer rate was 20 kbps.
I am using the airtel broadband that says 1 mbps and I get a consistent transfer rate of 80 kbps to 70 kbps.
**Tariff** - 10 gb day and 2 gb night , 749 rup[ees a month, or try the 1 gb 24 hrs if u want 10 gb 24 hrs pay 2000 rupees a month, or try the 5gb day 1 gb night, try watching the Pans Labyrinth without any subtitles and you know what I am talking about.there is no unlimited plan, cross your limit and you will end up paying anything between rupees 2000 to 5000, and if u payed in parts you will still end up with a the bill of rupees 1500 every time. On the flip side the inconsistent speed wont let u download anything above 2 gb in a month.
**Data usage**- Considering this is a limited data plan your total data usage should be visible on the agent. But no this is **dheerubhai ka sapna**, go to myrelianceada.com, sign up for an account(u dont get one by default) then click on your usage which is displayed in kilobytes. it is now upto you to calculate and figure out those 10 to 15 digits figures to know how much you have used. the customer care people were not able to make it clear that whether you are charged for the entire data transfer(uploading and downloading) or just download.
**connection reliability-** other than the inconsistent speed. I had a plan of 10 gb night and 2 gb day. but after every 10 minutes it would get disconnected. the signal tower on the agent would show a red cross and if I disconnected the data card the system got hanged. you cannot use it in the day cuz of this disconnection curse. after 10 in the night it ran well. Nobody at the reliance office, customer care or even the madamji from the mumbai corporate office could explain this. cuz if the data card was faulty why did it ran without any hiccups during the nighttime.
good riddance good bye
i still have the data card cuz I need to access my micro sd cards
i always hated airtel
but after an airtel office was open walking distance from my home. they gave a new connection with a landline phone for rupees 500 and no matter how much I hate airtel I am happy for the 1st time.
