I purchased Reliance’s latest offering - Netconnect Broadband+(Huawei Modem - white - Rs 3500/- and Night plan Rs 499/-).
I purchased it on 21st May 2009 in Magarpatta City, Pune(The area is within 3.1 Mbps, EV-DO, high-speed coverage).
On the first day I was getting speed of around 1.5 Mbps(tested on https://speedtest.net) and the modem worked like a breeze. The white modem just looks perfect with my white Macbook. Modem worked fine on both windows and MAC OS X.
I downloaded Prison Break Episode and other stuff(around 700 MB). All in a time frame of 10:30 pm to 5:30 am.
I was quite satisfied with the performance but then second day hit. I am getting speeds of 100-150 kbps which I feel is quite bad given the tall claims of Reliance of 3.1 mbps speeds. Moreover I tried contacting their call centre and the IVR responed that your 10 digit MDN number is invalid.
So in midst of the second day I have written my initial review. Will write further reviews on this product.
But I must say Reliance is true to its word: they can sell the product, after sales service and customer support - who cares!
