Hi,
I am a customer of Reliance Wimax Connection from April 26 2008. I subscibed for a 2Mbps, 4 GB limit Wimax connection.
I stay at Bommanahalli, Bangalore. As I stay close to the Reliance Tower, the signal
strength is good for me. But I am the least happy with the connection.
One problem is that whenever you want to look some thing urgently, you will not be able to connect. Will have to wait for 1 or 2 hours and finally log a complaint
with the Reliance Customer Care. The Reliance Toll Free number[1800227773] for BroadNet is not working from Bangalore and I need to call the Pune Customer care [STD]
number for logging the complaint [02230337777]. The Help Desk assistant will register your complaint and give you a complaint id and tell you that a Technician will
call you. Most of the time you will get a call with in one hour. I registered around 12 complaints till now. In 6 of the cases by the time they call,
my connection was ok. In one case they called after 5 hours. In the last case they asked me to reset POE and restart the machine, and it
didnt work out. They told some problem at my end and will send out a technician. But they never send a technician. This happened on a saturday, but the connection came back automatically by sunday evening.
What I feel is most the of the time the problem comes because of the DHCP server which serves the IP address at the reliance side.
There will be connection problem on many saturdays which I feel is due to some restarting or something happening at DHCP server.
For using this connection u need a lot of patience. And always expect like you will get the connection soon. 100% of the times, the Customer Care is not
able to solve my problems[They were not able to find what the problem is]. But getting the connection
is the difficult part and some time we will get really frustrated.Dont expect to get connected during weekends! The connection is highly unreliable.
Initially I had the problem of locking of account if I lock my computer with out logging out of Reliance Account. But If you log out before locking your system,
account locking will not happpen.
I have used BSNL Broad band at my brothers place at bangalore, which is reliable and you will get connection quickly. I wanted to go for BSNL, but I went to the office 2/3 times and they need
many documents and that too need to be attested and all. That is the reason I moved to Wimax. I called the Reliance Wimax Customer Care [9341307088] and they
send one guy to my office whom I gave a cheque of 500Rs and My Home Rent Agreement XEROX, Office ID Xerox. They installed the connection the very next week. The full
process took 1 week for me. The WIMAX antena is fitted on side of my aparment wall which faces the Reliance Tower and the signal is good here.
Now a days the speed is also very less.
I am using a HP Laptop dv 6156 with Windows Vista. I want to stop reliance wimax and go for BSNL.
Regards
Jacob
