My experience(rather painful experience) with Reliance Broadband goes long back. It started in 2013. My CAN NO - 100119715306. They circulated brochures Iin our apartment about their broadband services with attractive rate and I actually fell prey(even though all my friends said Reliance is a crook).
So the sales person takes security deposit of Rs. 949 and installation was done within next 2 days. I bought the WiFi router and they gave the connecting modem. It was only until 2 days that I could use the internet properly. Every day I would have to call the customer care to report a problem and it would take another day for them to repair it. This went on for 2 months. It was such a painful experience with these people.
Now the story takes turn. One fine morning the broadband stopped working completely. Repeated complaints didnt help. Even an engineer came and couldnt rectify the issue. For one month the broadband didnt work, although I paid the bills diligently. To hell with my patience, I requested for a disconnection and the line was disconnected in 5 days time. Now the horror story. The modem was not collected before 15 days time and they sent me a bill for the month when disconnection happened. I refused to pay. Called the customer care and those illiterate buggers know only lines that appear in front of them. According to the customer care, since my modem was not taken before billing date, I have to pay for the connection.
Till today I keep on receiving the bill. In the interim, twice they have threatened me with consumer and civil court cases. Uncanny though, all these cases are in Delhi. The company is from Mumbai, the service was provided in Bangalore, and the case is filed in Delhi. Bangalore has a very well formed consumer court though(FYI).
My patience has reached its peak. I have again received calls from so called Delhi civil court asking me to pay Rs. 15, 000( AND REMEMBER THAT THEY STILL HAVE THE Rs. 949 PAID AS SECURITY DEPOSIT AS IT WAS NEVER RETURNED). I have all the communications with Reliance broadband in email format. They have never replied to any of my emails and concerns. I am now filing case against these buggers. They are a shame in the name of service and shame in the name of a company.
Their reputation is so bad that the name Reliance itself gives me crawls over my body. They are one brand that can truly be not relied upon. They are a disgrace to the face of India. I know no one in my circle who prefers to own anything owned by this brand.
