Out of curiosity to try out the new 110 PS Duster before I eventually buy it, I sent a request on 17 Jan 2013 online, for a test drive. On Sunday, 20 Jan 2012 I received a SMS at 1 pm informing me of a mobile number of the Jai Vijay Motors at Pune, 088888855588, along with a mobile number for feedback/complaints, 08561955888.
I repeatedly tried Jai Vijay Motors number, hoping to fix a test drive on Sunday 20 Jan 2013 with my family members, only to be disappointed as it was repeatedly switched off. Why at all send a SMS on Sunday , raising hopes & expectations in a curious customer like me. Do it on a working day.
I tried my luck on 21 Jan 2013, when out of five attempts between 11: 30 am and 12:15 am, in one the ring got through, but without anyone picking the mobile. In the rest 4 attempts, the number was perpetually engaged.
Then I got really busy . Nobody called me back even though there would have been a missed call recorded on 088888855588 . I tried again after about an hour & was lucky to get an audience with a Jai Vijay Motors representative, to whom I complained about the sorry state of affairs of the mobile number given to me. He matter of fact informed me that he gets almost 250 odd calls a day inquiring about Duster & is plainly incapable of handling such a massive call load. Calling back for a missed call was simply out of question...! Appreciate his candor.
I called up feedback/complaints number, 08561955888 & the gentleman on the other side was more forthcoming. I did get a call from Jai Vijay Motors after this & I was asked to come to the company showroom for a test drive. On my request for a test drive by a company representative who could pick us up from our house, I was told he would call up sometime later. He did call up but I was given a time of 2- 2:30 pm for that day as he said he would then cover a few other customers in the area where I stayed. This being highly inconvenient I declined the offer.
My request for a test drive at around 5:30- 6 pm was flatly turned down. I thanked him for the call. At the very least the call came..!
Great to know the response from customers for Duster, which has appealed to me too, but I am afraid the company is logistically not geared to handle customer queries & request for test drives. In fact mobiles being switched off on Sundays & the rep being unable to handle the large number of calls on a working day in a city like Pune, will only put off customers.
Situation as On 2 Feb 2013 I got two calls from Jai Vijay Motors on 28 Jan 2013, wherein during discussions, I requested for a test drive on 110 PS Duster on Saturday, 2 Feb 2013 after 5 30 pm or on Sunday, 3 Feb 2013 at 11 am. I was interested in taking my entire family for a test drive so taking 5 people to the show room was logistically difficult. Hence a request to Jai Vijay Motors to pick up my family members (total 5 individuals) from my residence. I got a call from customer care on 30 Jan 2013, cell no. 8030088893, assuring me that the test drive would be definitely arranged on the weekend. 2 Feb 2013 has come & gone & I have had no confirmation from Jai Vijay Motors, Pune. My call to Customer Care, cell no. 8030088893, today was attended with the usual homilies & a terse statement that the test drive would be arranged by the dealer.
Heights of lazy, sloppy & lackadaisical attitude. Yet to get a test drive these 18 days. I have given up on Renault & want to forewarn prospective customers about the likely after sales service.
