Beautiful Color, Until....

I was flipping through a magazine, and saw an ad for Revlon® Nail Enamel . ’’The Ultmate in smoothness. The ultimate shine. The Ultimate Nail color. Hands down. I read on; ’’Revlon Nail Enamel, With an exclusive glossing agent- for glass like shine. And a self smoothing formula- for even color.

From the reddest reds to the nudest nudes, 56 ultimate shades. Yours included. I haven’t bought a Revlon® Nail Enamel in a long while so I though I would give it another chance. By the way the woman’s nails in the ads were just so pretty. The ad was a very current one, and it only said 56 colors while the website says 64. That’s stange because it’s a very new magazine.

I went to the store, and there were so many colors to choose from. Here are some of the colors Revlon Makes...

Khakizing, Sheer Marshmellow, Chocolate Cherry, Very Currant, Violet X-treme, Snowflake Pink, Cherry Crush, Rosezing, Sheer Nude, Raven Red, Rose Amethyst, Frostiest Pink, Sunflash, Go Chili, Sheer Blush, Wine With Everything, Ultravolet, Pink Foil, Pure Pearl, Deeply Chili, Gumdrop, Sunsparks, Baby Berry, Fire & Ice, Platium Lane, Iced Silver, Pink Light, Pink Freeze, Teak Rose, Cherries in the Snow, and Iced Mauve. There are a lot of colors so I won’t list them all, but I choose Iced Mauve which is pictured in the ad. It is a pretty purplish color.

I’m sorry but I can’t read [really don’t have the patience] the little writing on the bottle. I tried to about 3 times, but I can’t read them. The nail color comes in a clear glass bottle. The top handle looks like the black lipstick case that Revlon is famous for. Revlon® Nail Enamel holds 1/2 fl onces, or 14.7 mL.

The trick to applying Revlon® Nail Enamel is to apply it thin. If you would apply it too thickly it will never dry. The nail brush is rather thin so it’s not easy to make a mistake, and it is fairly easy to control. The nail formula is not thick, and easy applied. The smell is like any other nail polish, strong smelling , but not enough to make you sick. When I applied my polish, My nails looked nothing like the woman’s (Jaimie is wearing Revlon® Nail Enamel in Amber Alaze). Her’s looked so perfect, and mine just looked ordinary. It’s hard to believe we are using the same brand of nail polish!

It really don’t matter how perfect Revlon® Nail Enamel looks. About a day later [When you have a job like mine] It starts fading. I really don’t like the staying power of Revlon® Nail Enamel . It don’t last long. It’s such a shame too because the colors are great, and I really would like to collect them all, but what is the point of having a nail color that don’t stay on more then 2 days?

As for the shine. I didn’t notice any special shine. When reading the ad it made me think it would actaully have a little shine to it. I didn’t expect it to shine like a diamond, but just a moderate shine like the woman’s in the picture. It was no special shine like they made it out to be, just reminded me of any other nail polish. As with smoothness. I haven’t seen any nail polish that really had a smoothness to it, and this is not one of them either. How can Revlon advertise Smoothness, and Shine, when there is no Smoothness or Shine to it?

So in conclusion Why have a beautiful nail color with a perfect manicure that lasts... a whole 23 hours? I don’t know why anyone would waste their money on something that don’t last very long. The advertisements are no where close to the real thing.
