Hello.
I have been visited rishikesh many times due to some official work.
It is one of the best place to explore in weekends, you can plan for rishikesh on fridays night and easily come back by saunday night .
It will be around 250 to 300 km from delhi .
Way of transport are like train or bt own vehicle or by contract carriage bus is there . However I would suggest you to go by either traim or onw vehicle.
I used to go by train and de board at kotdwara station there I have stay .
And some of the places are also there to visit .
There are few places must check out if you are going there for 2 day trip.
1 river rafting or say water rafting with camping
It will be good to have rafting there its an nice experiance there are some olace like .maggie point and 25 feet jump point are awesome.
However dont forget to negotiate with the people arranging rafting for you .
I suggest in off season the charges must not b more than 300 - 400 per person excluding camping charges.
2 laxman jhula
It is not much exciting but it is famous so you can go and see there
3 haridwar aarthi.and ganga river.
After done with rishikesh you can go to haridwar as it is holy place n you can attend aarti there, it happen 2 times in a day.
Well about stay I would suggest you to not book hotel via online booking it will b little costly . You can approch local hotel there and found room at affordable rate very easily.
Thankyou .
