On 12th March 2016 I had booked two rooms in Hotel River Bank in Mandi for my overnight stay through Goibibo for my whole family. There were kids and senior citizens with me. We were almost negatively welcomed by two extremely ill mannered young managers during our check in. To my utter surprise they told me due to some reason two rooms were not available. They said only a single room which was 3-4 floors below would be available. More shock is yet to come. Their lift was not working or was intentionally switched off. The old persons with me had knee replacement and she was in extreme pain to climb down 4 floors. Moreover the room was not cleaned after last use. It was smelling like hell.Goibibo really saved the day. I called their executives. They in turn immediately called the hotel reception. After that the hotel guys gave another room in the next hotel for the senior citizens. But that room was also shabby and not airy.Myself, my wife and my kid has to choose the first smelly room as we had to anyhow get shelter and it was night. There was almost no security for that room. Anybody can climb to the glass windows from the back of the hotel and the hotel authority will not even know. There was no hot water in that chilly night. I called the hotel reception asking them to change the bed linens and a bucket of hot water for the night. But those requests fell into deaf ears.Atlast after couple of hours in that night after constant persuation the room service boy came and said that we were given a decent room on upper floor. Then after we had some sleep in the remaining night.So guys stay clear from this horrible hotel while travelling on Shimla-Manali highway.
