The film is not the usual run of the mill Rajni movie. No Grand opening sequence as the usual Rajni movies have( with a superb introduction to the character).Well but there is more to the eyes than the opening, a good plot, superb cinematography, great music by the maestro, superb camera work and ot to forget the simply superb special effects( first time in any indian movie).
Now aout the plot, the film opens with the hero, rajni, a scientist, Dr.Vaseekaran, creating what he calls his dream, a "ROBOT" that can do almost anything and much more. Well, he succeeds in creating "Chitti" the Robot, which does whatever e wants it to do and the robot by the way alsois successfull in impressing dr. Vaseekaran’s girl friend Sana, Aishwarya Rai Bacchhan. the problem starts for the Scientist when the robot is rejected by the artificial intelligence body stating that it is only a machine and not a human afterall.
to counter this Dr. Vaseekaran programs the robot to feel the human emotions. The Robot falls in love with Sana and the problem starts in Dr. Vaseekaran’s life. Dr. Bora, (Danny Denzongpa) who is Rani’s Professor, takes advanatage of the situation and rebuilds the destroyed rorbot and happens to programs power to destroy humans in Chitti. then there arises a war between the creator and the Robot. who wns is the climax of the story.
Now about the must sees in the movie.The cinematography is simpl superb. The costumes excellenet and the specia effects simply a treat for the eyes. For the people who are used to watch a lot of sci fi films like avatar, terminator, I- Rbot, etc, it will be another treat. the special effects take you to another world.foget the hollywood films for a while and enjoy the superb special effetcs.
regarding the actors, Rajni as usual stands out in both roles as the good scientist, as the Robot( both good and bad ones). At this age too he flawlessly dances and fights his way into people’s hearts.Aishwarya comes out as merely a prop iin the movie, thou she looks absolutely stunning, dances with ease and is a pure treat to watch after such a long time.
the director stands out in the way he has delivered the superb subject to the audience and the film I not only action, it clearly delivers a message at the end.
The only fall out is probably the climax, which could have been a bit short and the songs which seem to have ended up at the wrong place and wrong time.
So to sum it up, It is a cmust watch for all the Rajni Fans. And even if you don’t like Rajni much still you can watch for an absolute delight in terms of the special effects and cinematography and the locations.
You will understand why Rajni fans worship him in short.
