Welcome, welcome and welcome.Welcome to the Farhan Akhtar’s cinema. Yes this is not typical bollywood movie. This is different. It is about friendship, music, personal life and most importantly dreams; all in one. You will feel the youthfulness and maturity of the movie, characters all at the same time.
You will feel the feelings of the characters; you will be happy when they are happy and tensed when they are tensed. Hats of to the makers of this movie. Movie may not be big or huge success but the idea of this movie is really very very big.
The story is about four friends. They are connected by single thing: music, their band named MAGIK. Their dream to make this band huge. Their masti , their enjoyment in making music; their look all are just perfect and delivers the message. But their ego, brutal what we call corporate world play its roll and they fall apart. Now they are living their life but none of them is happy. Some are struggling and some are successful in terms of money but they are not happy.
These all things are captured perfectly. They are not in touch with each other but are missing their music their band vary much in fact at every moment. Even if Anu Malik (yes he has one small role) praises his music he is not happy. This is not the kind of work they want to do. Two of them are not in touch with music & other two are not at all happy. But now they reunite and fighting with their personal life perform and now they choose the right option to live happy life.
May be the story sound like boring or ordinary but this is not the whole story, you have to see this movie to know it or let us say feel it. Rock On is not just movie but it is an experience. You have to watch this one to actually feel this reach experience. Each and every character is more than perfect and add one special flavor to the movie. Movie is not about one character but about one idea, one concept and what an idea sirji! Very good performance by every one and just 10 on 10 for every thing.
So, what is that idea that I am talking about. It is simple : Live your dream. You may be successful but you will never be happy if you choose the work which you do not like or you do not know. So it is simple do whatever you like. Not force yourself to do any kind of work.
Music is very good. May be you do not like it now but you will like it after you see this movie. Vocal by Farhan Akhtar is also very good. Dialogues are the true winners and represents the movie in very apt manner, Each and every scene is taking the story one step forward. Movie covers very different cultures like investment banking culture, small fishing business, college days, jewelry business, rock concerts and many more and all are represented with perfection in just 2.30 hours.
If some one is doubtful of quality of bollywood movies than ask him/her to see Rock On.
