I had to rush mother to this hospital as she was short of breath and had heavy congestion in lungs. was advised to admit her in hospital as a series of tests needed to be carried out. That is when the ordeal began. My ill mother was assigned a room only after she was made to sit in the lobby for half an hour. Then they just put her in the room and for the next hour nobody bothered to give her the injections prescribed by the doctor for some immediate relief or take her for the Ct scan required to be done then. Strangely a bureaucratic attitude prevails in the staff who are primarly concerned with their documentation. Once the doctors get to know you have medical insurance they go the whole hog to prescribe tests which we laymen can never say are required or not. The single room costs a bomb but the toliets are dirty and there are mosquiotes. Quality of diet given to the patient is very poor with no concern for their particular ailment. Never saw a dietecian around. Although the doctor had some very high degrees and may have been very good but his total emphasis was on explaining the risks involved in the investigation procedures. After three days of testing and no diagnoses on hand, no course of treatment prescribed , names of some possible critical diseases flung on to you and a heavy dent in our pockets we were able to get her discharged from the hospital with some very heavy words of wisdom from the doctor " You are taking her at your own risk".
YES ROCKLAND WE ACCEPT THE RISK BUT FOR THE SAKE OF HUMAN KIND GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER
