When I bought the dvd I wasnt expecting much from it cause I knew it was a flop, but I bought it just to see how "the rocky" ends .But I was pleasantly surprised .it was a great story and well made.what is different from the previous movies is that there is no "over the top" heroism here.stallone here directing this movie has indicated that he wants to give a final touch to the series which made him famous.he has definitely succeeded cause there is no "good guy bad guy" formula here .its just a story of a man who wants to retire with a last gasp.the "human element" in the movie was excellent.the scenes with his son were so real like and impressive.stallone has really put his heart and soul for the "rocky" series and has indeed given it a fitting end.
well the story goes like this.many years have passed since the last installment rocky has lost his wife to cancer and is still recovering from that.He has a restaurant in the neighbourhood and it is doing well(atlast he does have money).he gets a chance to meet "little marie" a character from the original movie now shes all grown up and works as a bartender and is a single mother as well.the meeting with her has enabled rocky to have more confidence and meaning in his life.the dialogues with his son(who tries to come out of his father’s shadow)was awesome and very real.stallone has definitely tried to give importance to the man rocky rather than the hero rocky in this movie.the story then evoves around the comeback of rocky to the ring inspite of his age and fighting to stand up and withstand even the current heavyweight champion of the world .the ending was sweet as well.
overall its a good movie and I felt completely satisfied.A fitting end to a great series.
the direction was good stallone has really proved his credentials there is a slow and no overexcite feeling in this movie which is probably what stallone wanted.the acting was good though there is not much scope for the other actors.The screenplay was good as well .dont get fooled by the box office records this is a good movie, you can watch it even now Come on this is the last movie of the rocky series, you should not miss it .
