Roshan di Kulfi - is a very important part of my childhood. I always loved its puri channa(available only in early mornings), chana bhaturas and falooda kulfi. A visit to Roshan di Kulfi was a must on EVERY shopping spree to Karol Bagh.
But over the years, I have also been a witness to the changes which swept over this joint. And all was not for good. Today gone is the relaxed atmosphere in which we talked, ate, laughed, and ate even more. Now in an enthusiastic bid to increase the items in the menu, it has lost its original charm. Nearly every other snack is enlisted on the menu. It has now extended to beyond the restaurant area, spilling on the pavement. It has become too congested. No sooner do you sit down, you see some eyes already waiting for you to finish and leave. In fact, even the staff ensures that you don’t linger long. Even before your first course is over, the waiter is ready to take the next order.
The entrance is soooo very overcrowded with sweats counter, bhalla counter, golgappa counter, kulfi counter, tikki counter, . and what not. you have to really struggle to get your way in.
Besides this, the rates charged now are really not worth it. Even if you compare with joints around, you would get better taste at a lower rate.
Not an enjoyable experience any more!
