My experience with Bullet Electra 350cc

I brought the Bullet Electra in the month of June 2012, it took 5 months to decide to buy bullet after many rejections from my family members, relatives and friends and waited 7 months to receive the bullet in June 2012.


First few days are fine and on the second day seat cover was separated on few areas of the seat.


Within a week speedometer cable was not functioning, went to check with Royal Enfield(RE) service center at Erragadda, Manager has asked me to come after 2 days and after two days he is not available and I was informed to get it rectified in the first servicing.


Seat cover was fixed and replaced the speedometer cable at no cost. Thanks to Manager.


After first servicing, kick start and self-start was not functioning properly in the morning times and contacted the Manager, he said come in the evening and leave your bike here, we will verify in the morning and resolve it but when I visited in the evening he was not available and there is a guy by name Mukesh, whom I explained my problem and he brought a mechanic and got it verified. Partially the problem was solved.


After few weeks another issue arised it was with the front disk break which was making an unusual noise while we press the brake, somehow I managed with the rear brake till the second servicing.


During the second service I have stated the below issues




  1. Front brake




  2. Starting problem in the morning




  3. Petrol leakage over the fuel tank cap






For the font brake they said part had to be replaced and got it replaced at cost. Thankfully starting problem was rectified to my fullest satisfaction and after few days again there was petrol leakage over the fuel tank cap.


After few weeks there was oil leakage at forks(shock absorbers) and took it to the RE service center and there again a part had to be replaced at cost.


Few weeks after the screw fixed between the gear rod and the engine was fell down during running of the vehicle and again has to visit RE service center to get it rectified.


Meanwhile whenever someone sits on the pillion there was an unusual noise from chain belt.


After weeks I have parked my vehicle outside in-orbit mall Hyderabad, some burglar has theft the carburetor and got it fixed at expensive cost.


While fixing the carburetor I gave for third servicing also, during the third service I have stated the below issues




  1. Petrol leakage over the fuel tank cap




  2. Someone sits on the pillion there is an unusual noise from chain belt




  3. If didn’t accelerate continuously there is an unusual noise






Even after few weeks from third service I still came across all the three issues mentioned in third service. Apart from these issues there also starting problem in the morning.


Meanwhile I came across new issues that my pick up of vehicle has come down.


Again I visited the RE service center and got it resolved but the issues still persist even after.


Riding bullet with all these issues made me pissed off and even felt it’s not a new vehicle.


I sincerely thank Sunil, staff at RE service center for his kindness in receiving the customers. At time same Mukesh is very rude and adamant in dealing customers.


Decision: I’m really pissed off with issues arose with the bullet and there is no sheer satisfaction in driving the bullet. So I decided to sell it off….No I sold it off .without even using it for 7 months(waiting period for me to receive). I felt emotional while selling because this is the vehicle I brought with much interest.


Verdict: if the service center doesn’t effectively do the servicing please get it serviced by experts on those vehicles at a Mechanic Garage.


This was my painful, stressful, disgusting experience with the Royal Bullet and its service center.
