I bought it about three months ago and I have not been disappointed. I own two bikes of which I have already written about the CD-100 SS.
About the Bullet.. You start it and hear the silencer beat which in itself is reason enough to buy it. Setting the AMPS before you kick has a charm to it. The bike is VERY stable. Its got the power. The looks are rugged but the Bullet Electra looks better. But the thing thats wrong with the Electra is that it has a bigger silencer and hence does not have the silencer beat of the standard model. You can fit a smaller silencer to it or you can modify the standard by fitting chrome mudguards and the Electras seat. Everything is solid, the headlights are good but Ive got some personal gripes with it.
1) The seat : - Though the seat is comfortable the Electra has a much better seat. But you can fit the Electras seat at a cost of about Rs. 2000/-
2)The brakes : - The brakes are good but thats just about it. Ive always said that this bike needs discs. So its a bike that you should drive slowly. My personal experience is that once you go at about 100 Km/h you know that if something or someone happens to come before you, you know you are a goner.
3) Safety : - Ive already mentioned the brakes. About the bike itself - You should get leg guards fitted. I know a guy who had an accident on a Bullet and the only reason he managed to walk away with his legs intact was because of the leg guards.
4)Maintenance - Make no mistake about it - This bike needs a lot of maintenance. You will have to keep on servicing it if you want to preserve its beautiful silencer beat and maintain the average of 30-35 KMPL
5) Lastly the average : - Alright, I know that you dont expect a 350 cc bike to give you a good average but 32 KMPL (which I have been getting) is not good enough.
My opinion - If you cant afford the Machismo or the 500 CC because of their price and/or economy buy the standard else buy the former.
