I have a very disappointing experience with Royal Sundaram when it came to claim.
My car was damaged and every detail about the incident was entered in Claim Form, but I was surprised to see that only the least expensive damage was approved by Royal Sundaram and everything else was left for the owner to pay with no proper justification.
My car had multiple damages, so initially I was told that you could get either right side or left side damages only. Post survey precisely same happened, and the least expense damage was approved by surveyor Sumit. He didn’t bother to call me also for discussion when at the garage. He called me as a formality post leaving the garage.
When I raised the concern, then he sends the claim details to his next level who came back mentioning the same points as quoted by surveyor, which indicates sending to next level is just a formality.
Worst part is surveyor making statements likely people accumulate damages and then try to claim in one go. My car bumper is literally damaged and clearly teared off, still not considered for claim as it would have costed close to Rs 17000.
Later on when a call was arranged with Royal Sundaram sales senior person along with surveyor, he clearly tried to cover up surveyor decision. He did mentioned that due to multiple damage, surveyor could not identify which are genuine and should be approved, so he approved as per his understanding. This clearly indicates surveyor incompetency, whcih sales guy accepted as feedback, but it’s a loss to me which they never thought of settling. All efforts were to make me understand that surveyor is always RIGHT.
For insurance, never go for Royal Sunadaram, but purchase with companies like TATA AIG directly under proper guidance and discount.
