I got down from my car. Penned few details at security and moved in.
Mam - can you open this door for me:-)
A very common statement made by us whenever we join a new organization.
Moved too a beautiful lady sitting at the reception desk.
Offered a seat and I start looking at the walls of atrium.
Donno what happens to tons of Hi’s of my previous organization. Hmm.
The office was decent when I came for interview!.
What has happened to it now? I didn’t expected people to behave like this.
Where is the toilet.
Whom to contact to activate my email id?
How to configure the printer?
If you still confused, then I am just trying to compile my experience on the first day at new organization. This might not be true for all but I have felt these are the most basic and touching moments that I faced. HR will normally forget to tell you, where is the cafeteria and its rules. A set of etiquettes will be given to you in the form of printout but you will never be told about the basics.
I know its perfectly fine as things take time to settle down but thinking from the perspective of a person, who use to have a set of 100 people wishing in the morning. Few tea sessions will go along with technical chats and gossips. All are missing for few days.
Life becomes normal after a few days.
My idea to share this feeling with you is that no matter how different the people are in any organization but you will find your set of people. May be you have to initiate the process.
All d best.
