Reba McEntires album Rumor Has It is a very much a classic from this country diva! This album starts out very much in a positive direction! The album starts out with a song entitled Climb That Mountain High! Very energetic! A very positive message here! This song has edge, but, over all, this song will grab you lyrically! Reba tackles the obstacles in life that we all face! So if you are down and out, Climb That Mountian High will certainly boost your positvity! The next song to follow on this great classic of Rebas is the title track, Rumor Has It! This song approaches a gossip theme here! If you live in small town, you certainly can relate! And we all have gone through the gossip chain with friends, and Reba certainly does a tremendous job telling you about a relationship that goes sour due to her cheating man! This song is one you will always hear on radio, one of Rebas biggest hits ever! The next track on Rumor Has It is a song called Waiting For The Deal To Go Down! This song is very rockabilly! The subject matter is about a man who wont make his mind up! She is expecting marriage here! He takes her on an emotional roller coaster! One of those relationships that both people are just too stubborn to end! Nobody could tackle a topic like this like Reba does! All the while she is singing this great song, you the listener hopes she will get this relationship on track! The next track on this great album is the big hit You Lie, another #1 for the queen of country! The harmony is rich and Reba tells it like nobody else is able to! You Lie takes you on a vocal ride as well! She hits the notes high and her bandmates are right there behind her keeping the harmony in full! The story behind this song is a rather sad one too! He leaves her hanging on, and she knows he is not really that much in love any more! She is still in love, but however he does not feel the same way! It is certainly a very relatable song! The next track is Now You Tell Me. This is one I felt should have been released as a single! Great story to be told here! This song tackels the topic about that certain someone you once liked, but never got the relationship going, and you lose contact, and they just call you out of nowhere! He claims in this song he loves her desperately, but the only problem is, someone new has stepped into the picture! The classic story about how one has moved on! A great tune from Reba! Next we have Fancy! This is an all time classic of Reba McEntire! This song is deep! A song about a poor young girl who grows up very poor! The girl is on the edge of womanhood! The young ladys mother only got one choice here, and that is to send her out in the world! No, the subject matter is not pretty here, but powerful! Fancy is basically a prostitute. In the story, Fancys mother is sick and dying, so Fancy has to make it one or way or another! Even though Fancy is not proud of what she had to do, she goes to extremes in this rich and powerful story! It is the classic rags to riches story! By the time this song ends, you actually feel glad for Fancy! It brings you to an understanding that we all have things in our closets that we are not proud of and that we are only human! The Biggest Highlight from this great album and still heard on country radio to this very day! Not to mention a very memorable video from Reba! Falling Out Of Love is the following track on this album! Reba explores a different sound here musically! She has an adult contemporary sound here and it is just an amazing song! Falling Out Of Love is one we all can relate to! Male or Female, we have all been there! The relationship has come to an end, and it is a time in your life where you finally have let that someone go! It makes you feel great that you have finally let it all go! It is a song of about independence, a song about freedom from a long relationship and a fresh new start in your life! I highly suggest playing this one time and time again! You will love it! Reba comes back full force on the next track with This Picture! Upbeat and yet another song of letting someone go! Reba can tackle those songs of ending relationships and love like so few can! Even though she talking about getting rid of the pictures on the wall of an ex, she reveals one thing, the only picture that is the hardest to get rid of, is the picture she is seeing in her mind! A great song, well sung and deep in lyrics too! You Remember Me is a ballad on the album that is played beautifully on a piano! This song starts out slow vocally and musically, but it really has a great build! She really sounds amazing on this track! The harmony she has behind her, and the music! Another one I personally feel is a slight dip into an adult contemporary feel! Reba is diverse on this album and that is what makes it so good! The closing track on Rumor Has It is a great track, tackling a favorite of Rebas, the blues! Thats All She Wrote is very bluesy and slightly jazzy too for a country song! The song makes u actually want to dance too! I could easily hear someone like Patti Labell ( also a dear friend of Rebas ) singing this! This song is so hard to describe! It is a great song lyrically! She tells the man here that she knew this relationship he was in going to end! And it was so very predictable! He leaves Reba for someone else, and she had to let him fly, and she is saying that I am still here if you want me, and that forgiveness sometimes is the best way to deal with a cheating man, after all, humans do make mistakes! Pick Up this album today! Rumor Has It has a lot to offer in sound, in topic, and Reba put out a great record here folks!
