Hi guys, Recently I have opened a new account for online payments and for that I wanted a Visa card but every bank is now issuing RuPay debit cards instead of Visa until you request a lot.
In my case they said that now RuPay is accepted everywhere so I agreed for RuPay debit card.
Now about RuPay debit cards, the problem is not with the card and its security features, they are all good but the thing is 70-80% of indian websites do not accept payment through RuPay debit cards.
The government has intiated for indian payment gateway RuPay but do not take any decisions to make it mandatory for all website owners to accept payment through it, even most government sites also do not accept RuPay, they ask for Maestro, MasterCards and VISA only.
So guys I don’t think having RuPay card will benefit you, just prefer VISA because if you want to make online payment through debit card, RuPay option may be available or may be not but VISA will always there.
