Agar Some body has the ’Dum’ to keep you ’Company’ through the rocky ride of Saathiya it simply has to be Vivek Oberoi.Yup the star of saathiya and the man who makes every moement a viewing pleasure .Shaad Ali’s Saathiya is one of a most remarkably well made films keeping the audience captivated in every department , looks, acting , cinematography , music ..though the tamil version seems a lot more fast paced and convincing Saathiya was a very pleasurable film.
Suhani is a small time town gal who is doing her medicine.She runs into aaditya saigal , a software guy son of a well known Barrister at a Commona pal’s wedding and love blossoms in the form of ’ chlaka chalka re’ and then trains.But the parents bring up the usual issue of class n status n the lovers decided to let go and move on.But suhani goes on a 3 week camp to Karwar when she realises how menaingless it is without him and when he comes in search of her , they decide to get married and live as normal in each other’s houses.When does Suhani’s parents get to know abt her?do they accept aaditya?more Importanatly are Suhani and aaditya really enjoying their marital bliss?see Saathiya to fig it out.
Tthough I feel I am biased when I say Madhavan and shalini in the tamil ’ alaipayuthey’ were a lot more spontaneous and natural, I will take nothing away from rani and Vivek.Rani looks like a dream and acts her part.Vivek is the star , he steals the show his each move his each emotion is so well etched that he does bring abt tears in your eyse.The locales are well for a change not the wiss alps but probaly Manali and well the Title track is simply breathtaking.All the chracter artistes have playe d great role in making the film what it is . On the whole, Shaad Ali’s Debut Saathiya will linger with you fpor a long time to come.
