As boring as watching colourful paint dry

Lets start with the good things. Beautiful cinematography. Gorgeous sets, Full kudos to the production team for their brilliant work. I have no idea how they designed it but if there is any movie that looks "non-Indian" this is it. Who needs foreign locations, if you can create the dream world yourself. I read that the movie is based on a Russian Short story, and it does justice to the look and feel of the story/movie.

Average Parts: Rani Mukherjee has little to do but shines brightly. She easily overshadows everyone else in the movie.

Bad: Where can I start? This movie is so bad I would not use the reel of it to wipe my a**. Its boring, boring, boring. Salman Khan is in this movie simply because he wasnt in the last two Sanjay Leela Bhansali movies. Even you could have acted his part. I am not saying Salman was horrible in the movie, its just he doesnt have a role. Like I mentioned earlier, its adapted from a Russian Short story. Doesnt that tell you something? ITS A SHORT STORY. If you use the same short story and stretch is for 3 HOURS. it becomes BORING. I mean many times in the movie I felt myself phasing out the characters and looking at the backgrounds behind.

You know something is wrong in your movie when the biggest compliments go to the background behind your actors. Not since Karan Kapoor’s debut has a Kapoor clan member been outcla**ed by a wooden structure.

That brings us to the acting. Ranbir Kapoor is strictly ok. I dont expect a lot from him since it is his first film. But he still gets negative marking because if Sanjay Leela Bhansali can make Salman Khan act(Khamoshi, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam) he can make anyone act. Ranbir is still getting onto his feet and therefore can be overlooked. Has potential to be good, but needs acting, dancing skills. Oh I dont know if it was a inside joke, but please dont force him to act like his grandfather. Its an insult to everyone.

Sonam Kapoor. Amazing screen prescence. Pleasing to the eye. Zero in acting again. Its allright though, if actors like Celina Jaitely can get films by just looking good, Sonam Kapoor got a great future ahead of her.

The music s*cks. After the first 20 minutes of the movie I thought Sanjay Leela Bhansali was all set to break the marathon that was Hum Aap Ke Hain Kaun. Horrible songs, boring music. The only hummable track is the title track which kinda gets on your nerve after some time.

WTF moment: Did I see some nudity? Or Did I not?
