After watching all the three April 14th released movies, Sachin comes a deserved second to the mega entertainer Chandramukhi! After Superstar Rajnikanth, its Vijay who deserves all the applause for keeping the audiences entertained. His movies are a delight to watch and can bring in the families to the theatres. And often, he has been accused of doing the same stuff again and again. Here, he has proved us wrong by taking up a love story (though this has resemblance to Kushi in a big way!, but still its different from his recent loads of action capers. Sachin’s story is one that has been told often. A romance that goes haywire due to the ego between the two lovers. This was told in a stunning and the most entertaining fashion by SJ Suryah in Kushi. There, the movie was lifted to great heights by the performance of Vijay and Jyothika. Here, it is not close to the impact of Kushi but still remains in the minds of the viewers (neutral viewers and Vijay fans!).
Cast
The cast performance is fairly ok. Lollu Sabha Santhanam is irritating here. He was better and funny in Manmadhan. He is wasted here. Raghuvaran has a ’walk in and out’ role. Others did well.
Vadivelu
This guy is improving with each passing movie and now stands as the Number one comedian in Tamil Cinema. He might not have beaten Vivek in quality but since Vivekh is now into heroism, Vadivelu is untouched as the No.1. Slowly, the day would come when people throng the theatres only for Vadivelu. He is awesome in Chandramukhi and here too, he is very good.
Bipasha
What a waste of a role?? She was brought in only for the hype of bringing in a Bollywood popular actress. Nothing to do but just to wear skimpy dresses and get close to the hero.
Direction
An impressive start for Johan. But he should give some original stories instead of trying to lift ideas from Vijay’s previous hits. He can prove a good director.
Technical Aspects
Very good camera. It really showed us Ooty in a great light.
Music
Above average attempt by Devi Sri. But will he stop reusing his hit Telugu numbers? He has the ability to give original soundtracks which can be hits
Genelia
A very good performance!! This April 14 is a season for heroine oriented movies.She gives the right expressions. She tries to imitate Jyothika a bit but still she is more than watchable. Her scenes with Vijay are very good especially the Vaseegara scenes and her subsequent reactions.
Ilayathalapathy VIJAY
He is the second best right now in Tamil Cinema!!! No denying that!!! He always shows a marked improvement with each passing movie. His entertainment with his punches is still there and should prove a treat for his fans. His comedy is again the second best after the Superstar among the frontline heroes.
