My 25th review and I wanted to dedicate it to someone, who else can be apt other than my favourite Sachin Tendulkar
Sachin Tendulkar the two words that send shivers down most of the cricket teams in the world.A lot has been written on him in mouthshut, I have a few words of appreciation to add to ones that are already there on mouthshut.
He needs no introduction to the Indians. He is a Demi God. When he is in full flow he is a delight to watch and a nightmare to the opposition. He has the technique, the temperament to top it all the knack of intimidating the bowler to bowl as per his wishes. He is a picture of composure and concentration in both forms of cricket be it the one dayer’s or the 5 dayer’s.
His commitment to the game of cricket is 100% . Team comes to him above all personal milestones. He is also an all- rounder with immaculate fielding and bowling skills. Few have written about his bowling skills.
He has always provided the team with the break through when he has been asked to bowl. He keeps the batsman guessing with 6 different balls in one over. What do you call him a leg spinner, or an off spinner it is anybody’s guess.
Some of the people compare him to Steve Waugh; but I think it is not a fair comparison. He has a dual responsibility to perform
1)Play for the team and give the team the confidence , if he plays the team plays whereas in case of the Australians all the members chip in it works as a team but for the Indians Sachin = team and team = Sachin.If Sachin plays the batsmen following him get the confidence or else they see snakes on the pitch.
2)Play for a country of 100 crore people who expect a good innings from him every time he goes to bat .
He has the job of not only scoring the runs but also softening the prey for the other batsmen to come and kill.
I am not getting into the stats on him because shortly it will all become history- because he keeps improving on his own milestones and he out performs himself every time. Shortly he will be there as numero uno in all the categories and sub- categories of the records.
Par Excellence are the only two words that come to my mind to sum up his achievements till date.
