Before booking the car, I went through the reviews about Sagar, I was not much impressed by them. I had a talk with one of my office mate. He said that they are one of the largest dealers in Blr, so it is better to go with them.
On 22 June, we meet Mr.Prakash on hearing out that we were looking for Swift VDi, he instantly remarked that there is no discounts/freebies for any diesel car. I was little taken back. Even though my office mate argued with him that he is a returning customer who bought two cars from them, they did not budge from their stand. Of course this was a fact across all the maruti dealers. I crossed checked the prices against Bimal and Mandovi, finally I booked the car on the same day with the intial payment of 50K. The promised time for delivery was 45 days from date of booking.
On July 1st I applied the loan from UTI bank, they did the calls and finally rejected my application of lower CIBIL rating thanks to ABN AMRO credit card division. Then I happened to talk to Mr.Sariraj of Sagar, he said that Kotak Mahindra does not consider the CIBIL rating. I was just looking for a loan of 1.9L alone, the rest(4L) I was supposed to paid. Again on 3rd July I applied and it got approved on 4th July.
Then on 10th July I got a call from them stating that the car is ready, waiting just for my payment. Finally I paid the cheque for the balance and took the delivery on 18th of July, which is less than a month of booking. The only accessories I bought from them was the MGA Nippon which is the security system. The ICE were priced very much on the upper side. They recommended Sony Xplod on MRP, and said that even though I can get it at cheaper price outside, but I might lose the warranty if wirings are modified to fit them, whereas they had connectors which prevents it. Which of course it available in the outer market also. Then they asked for Teflon coating and Anti-Rust coating, which were costing 3400 & 2800 respectively, which I refused.
On the whole it looks good so far.
