SAGAR RATNA, I know I am going to get lots of hot flames after writing this review because we have a huge group of Fans of Sagar Ratna, Aur bhai hona bhichahie “isase accha south Indian aapne kahi khaya bhi nai hoga”.
I am also agreed with the statement but not fully convinced. I read about this restaurant some where in 2000 for 1st time, it’s was a little biography of its owner and how he managed to open this south Indian food chain. The biography was very impressive;
as I was in a small town at that time I was not able to try it out. I went this place when I came to noida for my higher studies, my 1st reaction to the place was “wowww it’s really nice, food must be very expensive no” I was so happy with the presentation, services, food and ambiance, and trust me it was really worth to pay.Food was too good, to take you away from Delhi to South India and with every bite the tour of appetite was getting deeper and deeper.
so what happened now, In my recent visits to the Sagar Ratna I found its sofas in very bad condition, sponge of it was staring at us, (this outlet is located in a premier mall of noida so my expectation was also higher) hence taste of food was same, prices of the products have been increased up to a good amount, service was slower then earlier, atmosphere of the place was very sleepy, I felt like dinning at a south Indian canteen rather than Sagar Ratna.I decided not to come at this place again and will go to some other outlet of it.
Next time I visited in other outlet(located out side the mall) but Voila condition was same, I didn’t understand why am I paying for? Just for dosa?If is it so, then I can have dosa of same taste and quality in half of the price at of Sagar Ratna at Reena. This is a small restaurant behind atta market providing me good south Indian food.
if I am choosing a restaurant like Sagar Ratna than I want my services ambience and food at par to my money. You can call it my expectation or I just want to justify the reasons to pay big bills.
