I recently bought a Maruti Swift Diesel LDI from Sah & Sanghi. To begin with, when I placed the order I confirmed that the model I was ordering would have black pillars (in the petrol the upper end models have this whereas the others have body coloured pillars). I did this not once but 4-5 times and was promised by the sales rep that he would make sure I get what I want. When I got delivery, the car had body coloured pillars, and on pointing this out to the sales rep, I was told "It seems there has been a misunderstanding, I thought you meant the rubber lining". Can pillar ever be misinterpreted as being the lining?
Further, I decided to get power windows installed on all four doors from the dealer, assuming that they would do a good job with it and provide me Maruti approved parts. What I got were the most rickety power window switches that create a deafening clatter when I drive. I reported this to the sales rep several times, he promised he would do something about it but still hasnt bothered. I guess they dont care once theyve sold the car. Oh yes, I paid a whopping Rs. 16, 000 for this as well (a good 4-5000 more than the market rate)
MORAL OF THE STORY: Do not buy your car from Sah and Sanghi. Theres better dealers out there - Vitesse, Sai Service with better customer care, facilities and infrastructure. If you do land up doing that, dont ever get your accessories fitted by them.
