BAD NEWS!!!
Looks like Sahara Samay is gonna be in the worst list when it comes to news presentation vis other competitors. Just look at the way they present the content. I guess a team of mass communications undergrad students can do a better job than this. The Sahara Samay team should learn some skills from the competitors like NDTV & Star & Aajtak. It looks like that the news presenters are put together in a jiffy. The appeal of the channel is very down market and the content is not appealing anyways.
They must learn from AajTak...which didnt have a great look as it started; gradually they have made into a very smart team of hindi news presenters with loads of reports which audience can look up to. The news channel (Sahara Samay) should actively work on this upgradation front. It this dont happen now, the existing audience would be lost in times to come. If we look at a perceptual analysis: On a scale of Aesthetic Appeal on one axis and Quality of content vis competition; High, Moderate & Low being the scales:
Aesthetic Appeal Quality of Content vis Compt
Star News --- High (Appeal) ; Moderate(Quality)
NDTV (both) --- High (Appeal); High (Quality)
TV Today(both) --- High (Appeal); High (Quality)
Zee News --- Low(Appeal) ; Moderate (Quality)
Sahara Samay --- Low(Appeal); Low (Quality)
India TV --- Moderate(Appeal) ; Moderate (Quality)
If we see this closely; we could very well form our opinion; this is what I think when it comes to the News programming. The variables behind the two Aspect of scaling;
Aesthetic Appeal: The look and feel of the channel in total.

the pattern of presentation
the consistency of colours from the branding perspective which could register in the mind of the target.
