I just got my mother admitted here upon referral from Dr Arun Shah(Neurologist). At first it sounded pretty good hospital but it is quite disappointing that their Admissions Unit v/s Billing v/s Admin v/s Nursing Stations are totally unaware of the processes.
Admissions are eager to get a patient admitting without keen in even giving any information related to the admission. This is probably the best and fast unit in the entire hospital
Billing Unit is quite keen at charging the customers but does not have drug or material details on their bills everything shows up either as MEDICAL MATERIAL or PHARMACY. They are generally very good at ensuring that your deposit get fully utilized in first 3 days of an economy stay just for regular check-up!
Administrative Unit: Does not have control over the administration of hte hospital, in fact it was surprising to note that their only directions are followed by Security and others just seem to have commands fall on deaf ears
Nursing Station: Attending Physicians are probably the worst in the entire hospital! are all fresh college students(may be residents) and dont seem to care about patients or family queries but try to hop on to instructions from referring docs(specialists). They dont even care to share medications list with the family. Some are quite patient but others are mediocre in their profession. Nurses are little better that other hospitals and their turn around time is just within minutes which was quite impressive but the nurses are overassigned with patients making it difficult to give quality care to patients.
Radiology: Hefty charges and wants to take all the reports and hike the bill. In our caes we had to repeatedly insist that some of the reports are not required by the ref doc and then they were convinced, Im sure if family just trusts the hospital for care they will be ripped off. They will take all the tests which are not even required for the diagnosis.
Interdepartment Comunication: Speech Therapy, Physical/Occupational Therapy, Radiology & Nurse Stations dont seem to have proper communication channels established. The information takes almost 24-30hrs to flow between them and causes delay in get right care and treatment
On an overall note, if you want quality care you have to be with the patient 24hours and get medical attention. Patients cannot get proper medical care by the hospital. This is a learning hospital and has a long way to go for quality care to be provided if one has to rely on the hospital processes/procedures. One has to repeatedly be behind Nurses, Attending Physicians & Referring/Visiting Doctors to know what is happening or what is the treatment plan is. Communication to keep the family or the patient upraised of is totally missing!
