Being 18th in the chronology of Sainik School this premier institution was inaugurated on 22 August 1970 by the then Defence Minister Late Shri Jagjivan Ram. The founder Principal of the School was Commander N.N.Seth. The School was initially started in the present Chenab House( hostel name) with classes from 6th to 8th before becoming a full-fledged and progressive campus in the later years. Motto of the school is Gyan, Veerta, Anushasan.
