A story that has no glamour but is yet moving

*The serial dealt with a very serious issue that has so far been neglected.

What is the real place of women in Pakistan, do we treat them as human beings or  mere property?

It was great because it did not rely on half naked women, tight jeans and the glamorous demands of the showbiz world.

The writer Basharat Ahmad and Producer Masood Ahmad Shah must be congratulated for such a sincere effort.

Najia Baig was perfect in her role as Noreen and so was Neha But as Nadia.

Almas Niazi was wonderful as the most hunted Zarmina.

Babrak Shah looked impressive as Mansoor.

At places the camera work was superb, and last but not the least theTheme Song by Aziz Ejaz was moving.

Noreen stands against the retrogressive forces and fights.

Before she is killed by her ex husband, she has been able to rescue Zarmina and uzma. Nadia a young lawyer assisting Noreen in her organization’Mashal’is shot by Uzma’s cousin’s hired men as Nadia is fighting to seek justice for Uzma, whose husband was killed only because Uzma married out of her family, being the only surviving heir of her parent’s property.

Uzma’s uncle and cousins wanted to remove her and her husband from the scene and grab property.

Poor Uzma’s only fault was that she married a man she loved.

Zarmina a young girl of 12 is sold into nikah by her greedy father and step mother to a man of her father’s age.

Zarmina escapes and fortunately with the help of police reaches"Mashal".

Noreen succeeds in getting a divorce from her cruel husband and instead of being confined to her shell she stands up and fights for the rights of innocent girls/women victims.Though at the end she is killed by her husband, but her death is not the end, rather the beginning of a long long drawn out battle that Pakistani women have to fight for their legal as well as social rights.

Congratulations Pakistan Television for airing such a sensitive product. Pakistan Television Peshawar Centre is always first to point out serious issues, it reflects honesty and responsibility even in this mad race of seducing the audience with the nonsensical soap operas and C grade comedy programmes.

Najia Baig proved herself as a sensitive and powerful performer. Hopefully we will see more of Masood Ahmad Shah and Basharat Ahmad projects.
