I was advised against Salam Namaste by my friends and sister, however, I decided Ill find out myself how good or bad the movie is. Thats the reason Id been to watch the movie and thats the reason this is here.
CAST (Mainly) : Preity Zinta as Amber, a RJ cum medicine student.
Saif Ali Khan as Nick (Nikhil Arora), a Cook mainly, but has an Architect degree.
Main Story Line
An experimental live-in relationship ends up in Pregnancy. Now, Nick wants the child aborted, but Amber wants to keep the child, esp, after seeing some Sonar images of a baby. Nick acts ir-responsibly until almost the end of the movie.
A common Indian Youngster cannot associate themselves with either Nick or Amber. Girls do not associate with a easy-to-get, live-in kind of a girl and guys do not associate with an ir-responsible guy.
Cheap laughter is thrown in at some points in the movie, some are well acted though. Place where I turned my head off the screen was the Baby-Delivery screen. Theres utter chaos when Abhishek Bacchan enters as an idiot-doctor and runs around doing two baby-deliveries. Theres a lot of actors-throwing-camera, stumbling, shouting and cheap laughter in those scenes. That was best avoided.
Should you watch it...
You must watch this movie if:
You like cheap laughter
You are someone like Nick or Amber.
You have serious time to waste
Whom should you watch it with...
No grannies, grandpas please.
For the Intellectuals
If you are the type that looks for a meaning, a sense, a story, a learning in the movies you watch, seriously re-consider watching this movie. The story is something youll never figure out, because, you just dont get the underlying message the director is giving you (hope theres one.) I couldnt figure out the learning in this movie, if you do, please put it in a comment. No prejudice please.
