Not up to the expectations

Hi guys..

I watched this movie few weeks ago.. and when I came out of the hall, I was completely annoyed. Reason being, the poor handling of a good topic. This movie was not upto my expectations..movie went just ok untill the climax started. I simply hated the climax part. I refrained from writing the review right then, coz I cud hardly think of any Pros in the movie at that time.

The movie’s subject was bold... knowing that it is based on a debatable topic, I went to see movie, expecting that it would deal with the topic sensibily. Like in ’Kya Kehna’, PZ played a unmarried mother, but I liked Kya Kehna because of its sensible treatment. but here in SN, director spoiled the flow of movie with some unwanted irritating comedy.

About the movie.. I think its known to all by now. Still for review’s sake.. Saif is a chef and Preety is a Medical student and a part time RJ. They meet at some place and fall in love. But Saif dont want to get married coz, it’ll bring responsibilities. So they decide to try each other for some time. And then ’’Jis bat ka dar tha vohi hua..’’ kind of stuff. PZ gets pregnant..Saif advices to get the baby aborted. But she decides to bear the baby. And with help of some more chahracters, movie marches ahead. Finally Saif agrees to bear the responsibility of a family and gets ready for marriage.

Performances:

Saif- Nothing New from his bag of acting. He continues his DCH - HumTum innings. He is OK

Preety- Naaah..She is yelling here or there 60% of the time. Overacting in 30%. Rest 10% are some sensible sceanes where she has acted upto her reputation.

Arshad Warsi- I found his performance without any flaw. His character makes him turn in to a responsible, wife loving husband. from a carefree flirt. He does it with elegance, punctuated with well timed comic sense.

Javed Jafri- Well not to say much abt him. He was not at his best in this movie. But still the situation in which he appears, manages to make ppl laugh.

Pros

Director dared to touch a sensible topic. (Which has now become a fashion) Every second movie today has some daring topic.

Lovely scenes of Australia

Arshad Warsi.

Music was fine.

PZ and Saif’s first few encounters were likeble.

Javed Jafri’s scenes. Although not very good, but OK.

Cons

If u are living in a well developed and advanced country like Australia, and u have kept no relations with your family then living -in together is not a big deal. Its kind of ’’Miyan biwi raazi to kya karega kaazi?’’. It’d wud have made much sence if they portray a story in some indian city. Actual prob arises when you have ur parents and family with u and u want to go for such live-in relationship. Then u’ll find some challenges in the relation. Thus the movie completely misses out india perspective of live-in relation.

But probably Nine Months did not had this diversion... So the director, like an obedient student completely followed the story of Nine Month. Well done dude.

And then some scenes were very irritating. Most of them are already covered tens of times by other readers. So I am mentioning those whome I found most irritating --

PZ jumping like Kangaroo with 8 month pregnancy.

That ugly pseudo tummy, peeping out, which PZ carried during pregnancy..... Every mother feels proud to bear a baby, but nobody shows it off, the way PZ does.

PZ vomiting in Saif’s hat...Oh god didnt she find sink in her Kitchen?

And last but not the least ....Climax. Eeeeeahhh...what rubbish was that? I have a very simple question here. How Mr Director managed to avoid A certificate for his movie. Last sequence makes this movie qualify for ’Adult Only’ certificate.
