Watch and then think..........

Hi there!

This is Snigdha. And I am going to write about the movie “ salam-namaste”. Though I watched it on the last Thursday I did not write a review till today because I was thinking about the movie….i read so many reviews on this movie. Some liked it and some did not! Well everybody has different points of views……ok let me share my views with all of you..

As everybody must be knowing this is a story about a boy and a girl living together ……..that means all about “live-in-relationship”. Though I personally don’t support the idea of live in relationship but the movie is worth watching. Saif ali khan plays the role of a cool chef. He has completed his studies of architect but never applied the knowledge he gained in the college(as he never gained any knowledge yaar!!!). His name in this movie is Nikhil arora but he loves to be called “NICK” and nothing else.

Then comes Priety zinta who is playing the role of Ambar, a radio jockey(RJ) and she is also studying and going to become a surgeon. Then there are other characters also but it will be better to watch and find out more…..i just want to write what I felt….

So as usual Nick and Ambar saw each other and fell in love…something like love at first sight, but they needed some time to know each other more. So they decided to live together in a house and to live with each other’s likes as well as dislikes. From the very first day they started to know each other a little better. Like Ambar loves to eat pizza where as Nick is sick of it…but guess what Nick shares pizza with Ambar just to be with her and similarly Ambar helped Nick in cleaning the room and the plates before going to sleep because he can’t sleep in a house which is not clean although Ambar prefers to sleep earlier…………..Next day nick (who is a late riser) wakes up earlier just to make breakfast for Ambar. And she waits for Nick till late night just to spend some lovely time with him……

Then after some 3 months or so Ambar gets pregnant and then only she realizes how different the views of both of them are!! She wants a child and he does not. Nick thinks that children are burdens and nothing else where as they are the most valuable things in life for Ambar as she felt that the thing which is inside her is not just a mere a piece of flesh rather it is a living, breathing little life…she wanted to have a family….a relation that would tie both her and Nick for the life time.

Now let us try to read the mind of Nick, who loves Ambar very much…..but he does not want to be tied up by any kind of relationship.. He wanted the freedom to break whatever there was between him and Ambar when ever they feel like. In his views Ambar waits for him late because she wants and loves to do this..he wakes up earlier and makes breakfast for her because he loves to do that. But in case of marriage it does not depend on whether they love to do or not rather they do it because they are bound to do it….there is no other way…….so he thinks that there should be no relation and no baby in between them.

Well there are some people who support Ambar and some who support Nick……..let me talk about me…….i support Ambar….no not because I am a girl but because if after trusting a person so much what is the point in living in the same house but still not having a name to your relationship!! If you can live for one year with all your likes and dislikes then what is the point in still having a doubt whether you will be able to stay together your whole life…..ya I know it takes a life time to know a person……..but that life time should be spend with each other to know each other. And if you are going to stay together for a life time then what is the point of live in relationship?? After all there is no guaranty that you will get another life for giving a name to your relationship…

Well at the same time I agree to some points of Nick also…….as long as you do things because you love to do, the relation has its true value. When you do because you are bound to do then there is no point in doing it. Life becomes just a routine work and nothing else!!

But if you love somebody so much that you are ready to sacrifice your small needs just to get a little extra time with him/her or just to make him/her happy then what is wrong in getting married and continue the same attitude for the rest of the life!!

Well this is what I think about the movie. Overall the movie was just great….i watched it with my bhabhi and friends but you can watch it with any one you are comfortable. The music was really good specially “ my dil goes hmmmmm…..”. Saif and Priety both have worked magnificently. Arsaad warsi, javed jafri, jugal hansraj.everyone were just great in their roles. The first half of the movie is full of comedy and romance……though the second half becomes somewhat serious but Saif and Warsi’s comedy makes it lighter. The colourful Melbourne city is joyous to watch and what else should I say after watching this movie except “ My dil goes hmmmmmmmmmmm……..”!!! watch and enjoy……..”SALAM-NAMASTE”!!!
