Of course it is one of those girl meets boy romance flicks all so sweet and wonderful. But the best thing about the movie is that it tries to deal with an important issue about living in arrangements and the attendant problems. It also tries to deal with the issue of pregnancy before marriage in an open and mature manner. Just this itself is refreshing in a Bollywood movie, which in general tend to provide simplistic solutions to such issues. There is no moralistic preaching which adds to the viewability of the movie. And all this is done within the limits of making a commercially viable movie and I think the director has done a good job overall. However it definitely would have been better if the length of the movie could have it been reduced. Especially the last scene in the delivery room should have been reduced to 10 minutes or so instead of having it go for 20 minutes or so.
Saif is good and his acting is pretty convincing however Preity Zinta is mostly eye candy and she needs to improve her overall acting skills. It would help if she learns to dance. Arshad Warsi plays a very good role as a geek who gets married to a foreigner. Javed Jaffrey is hilarious in his short parts.
Overall the movie is worth watching for the mature treatment of interesting issues but keep in mind this is after all one of the many girl meets boy romance flicks.
