Recurring problems with switch membranes

We have been facing regular problems since the past four months. The problem has always been the same. The problem first occurred in October 2007. The ‘Start’ and the  ‘Stop/Cancel’ buttons stopped working while all the other buttons were working fine. We registered a compliant following which a technician came on the 23rd of October & told us that the problem lies in the switch membrane & that it has to be replaced. We were charged Rs 554/- for the switch membrane.(Invoice No:SVCMUM 06/ 20557)

Again in January 2008, the problem recurred. Again the ‘Start’ and the  ‘Stop/Cancel’ buttons stopped working while all the other buttons were working fine. We registered a compliant following which a technician came on the 5th of January & told us that the problem lies in the switch membrane & that it has to be replaced. We were once again charged Rs 554/- for the switch membrane.(Invoice No:SVCMUM 06/ 203)

Again in February 2008, the problem recurred. Again the ‘Start’ and the  ‘Stop/Cancel’ buttons stopped working while all the other buttons were working fine. We registered a compliant following which a technician came on the 21st of February & told us that the problem lies in the switch membrane & that it has to be replaced. We were once again charged Rs 554/- for the switch membrane.(Invoice No:SVCMUM 06/ 4117)

Two days later the same problem resurfaced. This time the technician said that the switch membrane was fine & the problem was with the PCB & that we had to change it. The charges would be Rs2650/-. But the problem is still the same as previous occasions.

If the problem is in the PCB and not the switch membrane, then the technician had not diagnosed the problem correctly on the previous two occasions and we had to pay for his mistakes.

Further we are not sure what will happen if the problem reoccurs after the PCB is changed. Really feeling harassed
