The SAMSUNG Combo 52 X 32 X 52 X+
When it comes to optical drives in India, we can compare three companies... Namely
Sony
Samsung
LG
This is the order in which they perform...
Sony is the best in class CD RW which can give you writing that is 100 % error free even at 52X...
Sony’s DVD is the laggard... It may not read even some CD’s and DVD’s especially pirated ones!!!
I have been using Sony CD RW for 2 years and changed it to combo drive only for the above reason...
Samsung is the best DVD you can find... It reads anything hust anything!!!
The writer may not perform with certain CD’s as I found that cheap CD’s that I buy for Rs.5/= sometimes fails to work in samsung but goes on well in SONY...
The Samsung writter does good job elsewhere but at times has problem of not ejecting which you will never find in SONY...
Overall for a combo drive, go for Samsung (The TOSHIBA lens is better for DVD... It will have CTO edge printed on the drive)...
If you need only the writter, go for SONY...
LG is definitely a NO BUY... It does not last long and has severe problems in its lens!!!
