Last month my brother bought a samsung Combo drive, I dont know why he opted for such a n unreliable drive. I dont recommend any samsung Optical drives and CDs
the main problem with the samsung drives is that the tray will be stuck after a few number of use...then ull hav to slightly push the tray inside. I also had some bitter experience with the samsung CD ROMs , the blank cds from samsung r the most unreliable ones I have ever used ... the dye(the silver portion) will peel off or holes wll be formed on that layer .... making the disc unreadable and thereby loosing precious data.
another problem with the CD RW drives is that , when we burn the discs at a higher speed (more than 24X) there is a 80% chance that there will be errors and ultimately ends up wasting that CD.
the samsung drived does not come bundled with free blank CDs or DVDR s...but many other manufactures r providing blank medias with their product
Buying a combo drive is not a good option either, I recommend the customers to buy a CDRW drive and a seperate DVD ROM Drive...it will be some 200 rs extra but even if 1 drive has got some lens problem atleast u can use the other for reading the Discs.
I personally recommend ASUS or LG Drives ...
