Awkward Child of Samsung's A Series

Hi friends, I’m Milan using Samsung Galaxy A5 for 2 months. Samsung has managed to fit everything inside a svelte 6.7 mm thick, 123g handset. That’s why A5 is a top flight smartphone without eye-wateringly high price.

DISPLAY:  The A5 also shares Samsung’s Super AMOLED panel technology giving the 5-inch, 1280720 resolution display. While its maximum brightness level of 347.26 cd/m2 isn’t as bright as LCD screen. The A’s color accuracy is top of its class. Likewise, the screen’s contrast levels are extremely high. The 1280720 resolution gives most web pages enough definition.

BATTERY & PERFORMANCE:  A bigger, higher resolution screen doesn’t come at the cost of battery life, as the Galaxy A5’s 2300mAh battery lasted an excellent 15h in my continuous video playback test with the mid-brightness. So, you should get plenty of use over the course of a day. I think, it’s the quad-core  1.2 GHZ  Snapdragon 410 processor that betrays the Galaxy A5’s mid-range aspirants. I would really expect to see something bit faster; like snapdragon 615. This is a shame, as it leaves the A5 feeling sluggish for its price.

CAMERA:  At least the 13MP rear camera produces some splendid looking. Colors are clean and images are of crisp detail. But, it nevertheless does an admirable job of balancing light under challenging lighting condition.

CONCLUSION:  The Galaxy A5 is a beautifully designed handset with almost all the hallmarks of a great mid-range smartphone. It has a great camera, excellent battery life and high quality screen. But its performance really lets it down. In my opinion, it’s very much the awkward  child of Samsung’s new A series.
