I bought the Samsung Galaxy Grand a couple of years back. I was impressed with it’s grand size at first glance. Hence, I decided to purchase it. I purchased it via the Samsung store. I got two flip cases with it bundled inside the box. Here’s my full review -
Design -
Nothing very holly - jolly here. The build quality is quite average. It’s made up of solely plastic. The back cover is quite flimsy. The bezels are quite average too. But the thing that I noticed is that the side coated paint wears off quite easily after a month’s of usage. Also, there’s no protection like the Gorilla glass or any Dragon trail or Asahi glass. I got my screen down twice and had to replace it.
Camera -
It sports an eight megapixel rear camera and two megapixel front camera. I have to say - the quality of the rear camera is pretty impressive. BUT the front camera is not impressive at all. The pictures are quite grainy. But the rear camera is praiseworthy though.
Battery -
The battery life was quite pathetic. The potential to hold charge diminishes quite quickly. I am getting half a day’s use after charging for 120 minutes with 1A at 2.5V.
Performance and UI -
Again nothing holly - jolly here. Quite slow and laggy performance. The touchviz UI is too classic here. Too slow and laggy and quite sturrery performance all the time. Apps take a second or two to launch. And it’s still stuck of Jellybean 4.3.
