Great

The Samsung Galaxy J Max is a large screen phablet for people who want the best of both worlds a smartphone’s calling ability and a tablet’s screen real estate. Released on July 8, 2016, the device features a gigantic 7-inch display that blurs the line between a smartphone and a tablet. It also features a huge 4000 mAh battery for facilitating longer usage time.

Design

The Galaxy J Max has a wider design than most smartphones, thanks to a larger display. It features a plastic body with a patterned removable back for ensuring better grip. Its volume and power buttons are on the right and a microUSB port as well as the headphone jack on the top. It is 8.7mm thin, but it doesn’t weigh too much thanks to a plastic body.

Display

The Samsung Galaxy J Max features a 7-inch TFT LCD display with capacitive multi-touch and HD WXGA resolution ( 1280x720 pixels) that offers an immersive viewing experience. The device can act as an entertainment hub for avid mobile users. To save people from using such a large phone, Samsung is bundling a Bluetooth headphone for free with the Galaxy J Max.

Camera

Samsung has equipped the Galaxy J Max with an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with /1.9 aperture, autofocus mechanism, an LED flash, and HD video recording at 30fps. There’s a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with /2.2 aperture for good-looking selfies. The camera isn’t as feature-rich as the ones on smartphones like the Mi Max and the Lenovo Moto G4 Plus as it lacks 1080p video recording.

Storage and Performance

Under the hood, the Galaxy J Max is equipped with a 1.5GHz quad-core Spreadtrum processor with four ARM Cortex-A53 CPU cores paired with 1.5GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. For storage expansion, the Galaxy J Max features a microSD card slot, which can be used with up to 200GB microSD cards. There’s a 4000 mAh battery that is said to last nearly 9 hours with continuous usage.

Connectivity

In terms of connectivity, the J Max has dual-SIM card slot ( Nano SIM + Micro SIM) , and it can connect to all 4G LTE networks in India. It can even place VoLTE calls over internet protocol. Other connectivity feature includes 2.4GHz Wi-Fi b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS ( with A-GPS, GLONASS, and BeiDou) , and a microUSB 2.0 port.
