Got the phone recently.
For 21, 900/-, Its really amazing to see that good display(5.5) of phone. The colors are really bright and appealing. The Size made it more appealing.
I researched quite a bit for a phone which has Sizable screen, Great Battery Life, Good Specs and of course, decent price of about 20 to 25K. Samsung Note 3 Neo fit the bill. Online reviews were generally positive given the price drop. I grabbed it when Flipkart dropped the price during GOSF to Rs. 21, 998.
Pros:
Screen size and clarity
S-Pen
Limited Bloatware
Battery Capacity of 3100 mAH gives me 2 days of juice and can stretch it till 3rd day morning if I turn on flight mode during sleep time.
IR Sensor [Remote Control for your TV/DTH. Works with most Indian DTH operators]
Light weight for the screen size
My phone came with Kitkat pre-installed. Yes, you heard that right! Lot of people are complaining about Kitkat upgrade causing issues but I havent seen any yet
Almost a Note 3 level experience at half the price. Few functions missing when compared to Note 3 but I dont think users will miss them much
Cons:
Design is a bit classic/outdated
One handed operation for small hands will be a problem. But Samsung has taken care of this by having the One Handed Operation functionality where the screen size reduces to help with one handed operation
TouchWiz look/feel is a bit outdated
Limited accessories for the phone in the market
Its been less than a week since I have had it. Figuring out a lot of the Samsung-specific features of S-Pen but what I have seen till now is great. You can’t go wrong with this phone. The specs you get for this price is amazing. 1 day is guaranteed with 3G ON. Overall Im satisfied with this product. Ive been using Samsung Galaxy R for the past three years without any problems and that’s the reason I bought a Samsung instead of cheap-high spec alternatives available in market. Also I was concerned about the service. I read the reviews that criticizes about the processor - hexacore, octacore snapdragon bla bla bla. For a normal user like me, I feel the phone is sufficiently powered and is not giving any lags/freezes etc. Also the display is 720p which is one of the reason why it gets good battery backup. Unless you are not obsessed with the FullHD displays, this amoled display is superb with crispy resolution. All games are running fine. S pen is superb - still learning all the features. Overall I think it’s a value for money product. From my perspective, if you spend more than 20K on some phone in this market, the depreciation will be too much. This is kind of like a balanced alternative to people searching for value for money along with brand name and service. This is one of the few branded smartphones with which you can travel without any power banks
