This device looks pretty simple and comparable to its immediate predecessor— the Galaxy On7. In terms of thickness, Samsung Galaxy On7 Pro doesn’t disappoint at a mere 8.20mm.

DISPLAY:In terms of resolution, we get a basic 720p screen but the lack of ambient light sensor might be an issue. However, Samsung offers an outdoor mode for better visibility which kind of works well.

SPECS:This handset is pretty basic in terms of internals and offers a standard quad-core processor from Qualcomm. The version hasn’t been mentioned but this chipset clocks at 1.2GHz. 2GB RAM is a slight improvement over the predecessor.Graphics are handled by the Adreno 306 GPU. Moreover, we get 16GB of RAM in comparison to 8GB on Galaxy On7. Micro-SD support is available with an expandable limit of up to 128GB.

CAMERA:The 13MP primary shooter is actually nice and well-lit shots are pretty vibrant. However, in low-lighting we do experience some noise and graininess. Selfies are pretty ok with the 5MP front facing camera unit. Samsung Galaxy On7 Pro keeps the camera interface pretty basic and doesn’t look to add many thrills to the beautification modes.

BATTERY:The 3, 000mAh removable battery looks pretty good for the existing specs sheet and we are expecting it to last for a day and half on medium usage.

SOFTWARE:In terms of OS, we get Android Marshmallow v6.0 which is still pretty latest. However, it wouldn’t be wise to expect Android Nougat on this handset even in future. With security being an issue, Samsung has offered the latest security patch, July 2016 with this smartphone. The user interface is smooth and has now been optimized for working better with the hardware.

The Verdict:

Overall, Samsung Galaxy On7 Pro offers value for money and is definitely fit for those who are always on the lookout for a well-known brand. This handset will also feature at the offline stores, making it easier to purchase for someone who isn’t accustomed to e-commerce.
