Firstly, I absolutely love this phone. My first android phone though I have a galaxy tab too. The awesome screen size and its clarity make watching videos, YouTube, pics an absolute treat. Sound on speaker not very great but earphones are good quality.
Its ’nearby devices’ feature discovers multimedia content on other phone/pc/tablets very easily, even non Samsung ones as it uses DLNA. So sharing videos around devices for streaming or just to download is easy and fast. Only crib is if it could have organized content from nearby devices also into albums, artist etc.. Its great to get all your music, videos at one place.
Phone looks stylish. The plastic back cover doesnt give it a cheap look. You only realise its plastic when uncovering the phone or reading other reviews:-) . Design is simple and appeals to my taste. Phone feels light, looks light.
Camera quality is superb. The low light mode without flash is able to take pics with almost the same clarity which is visible to you. ofcourse the powerful flash can help if needed. I wish selecting scene mode was simpler. Photos get tagged automatically after u tag few yourself with reasonable accuracy, or u get to have a good laugh about it :-).
Certain other goodies like smart stay, s voice, wifi direct have only little use. Smart stay does help sometime when there is lot of info to be parsed on screen. s voice is disappointing. Contacts integration into pics, camera and ability to link same contact from fb, google, exchange is great. The only annoying thing has been that high res image come up blurred as contact image. Other issue is playing audio using BT on ford figo car audio skips audio every so often even though it works fine with my windows and nokia phones. Wifi direct is good for infrequent use where one needs to send accross large amount music, videos in fast and hassle free manner. But it does make your phone sluggish while transfer is going on.
I hope that glitches in software especially better voice assistant , and bluetooth issues hopefully get fixed in in upcoming updates. JellyBean is also around the corner and is already in rolled out for S3 devices elsewhere. I heard it has google voice assistant which is better than S-Voice.
All in all a great phone with great hardware and software for delightful multimedia experience, with lots of feature goodies.
