With the launch of S3, it grabbed the spotlight from Galaxy 2 and other android phones. The first thing to notice in Galaxy S3 is S3s brilliant 4.8-inch Super AMOLED screen. Samsungs Galaxy devices have always set the benchmark for mobile displays and this might well do that for 2012. It’s sleek model makes everything look prettier on screen. The device may not have the premium finish of I Phone 4S but certainly feels nicer in the hand than the S3s predecessors. What I observed is that in spite of certain great features; the S3 has more in common with the original Galaxy S than the S2, with curved edges the theme in the design language. The design contours well against the palm, and while the screen size may be a little big for some its definitely usable in the hand. The home button has also been elongated, although the same menu and back buttons remain.
Users might prefer the clean rectangular lines of the S2 to the curved retro shape of the S3. Weighing 133gms Galaxy S3 is heavier than the feather-light S2.Its a welcome relief to see a removable battery and one that is simply the best in class. With 1.4GHz quad-core processor this is a great device that performs without any glitches. Galaxy S3 has extendable memory slot that compliments the 16GB onboard. Theres also a 50GB Drop box for Cloud storage. In short your laptop now has competition. The S3 has its share of smart features like Smart Stay that will keep the screen from turning off by recognizing your eyes. Theres also S Voice - Samsungs version of Siri - and Direct Call that auto dials contacts. Ice cream sandwich gives a UI that is the best we have seen on a Samsung device till now.
With Samsung Galaxy 3 in the market priced at Rs 39, 000, the pressure is not just on HTC but also on Planet Apple with the eye-popping Android displays bound to tempt Apple loyalists to defect. Overall, in the hand, the Samsung Galaxy S3 feels superb.
