I bought a samsung LCD 32" in April 2012. For last one year, there was a single black vertical line appearing on display panel but recently there number increased to 7-10 and some color disturbance also developed. So I raised a complaint to Samsung care(id: 4205104642), Engineer visited and told me that problem is coming as carbon has been deposited due to moisture(probably) on one cable and display panel soldering. He cleaned the cable and hence color disturbance problem was rectified.
But for display panel, he said that it can’t be cleaned and the only option is to replace the display panel. I asked about the expenses and was shocked to know that it will cost me around 18 K and same problem can appear again in 2-3 years in new panel too. Now in a time when samsung new 32" LCD is around 20 K and other brands like Videocon, Micromax etc are selling it around 14-15K with 3-5 year warranty, I am feeling cheated by samsung current solution for replacing display panel.
For me, it seems to be a design flaw as in new LCD samsung has done some coating to avoid this issue so it should have been replaced free of cost as good service gesture but they denied it. I also found similar issues on internet reported by some other samsung users. I don’t think that a’one will expect a LCD to work for 2-3 yrs. I raised this concern to samsung support but just got repeated answers that I will have to pay that much of cost which can’t be justified by any mean. I am not satisfied with samsung product and service at all and will never buy any samsung product in future. I also had a bad experience 2 yr back with my microwave also. I was given a faulted product which didn’t work during demo. They offered to repair it but when I insisted they agreed to replace it but they made me wait for 2 months to get it replaced. So, my experience is very bad with samsung so far and if you still buy samsung LCD be prepared to spend 60% of TV cost in every 2-3 years.
