Samsung N710.
The choices for those who believe "Phone tho sirf bath karne keliye" are shrinking now days. Nokia have quite a few models and are very functional. But I bet anyone having the slightest aesthetic tastes won’t pick one of them.
For those who believe the above way, still need a good looking phone, Samsung have brought N 710.
I will give 100% marks for its looks. Sleek and stylish with arrow black finish, large bright white display, bigger keys- that too ergonomically designed. Fonts and graphics look better with smaller pixels than that of basic Nokias.
This is a very basic phone. Dual band, monophonic, monochrome and no WAP frills. Phone has only 100 number memory. Reception can’t be said to be very good for it failed at low strength pockets where my Sony Ericsson manages. It has quite a few ring tones but doesn’t appear to be very different from one another. Anyway the default tone sounds pretty good.
Surfing through the menu is easy and quite intuitive. We can access item by their serial number rather than by scrolling all way up and down. This is a very pleasant idea that I first found in my old Sony Ericsson T100. Another good thing is its tool tip like item hints.
The retailer was not ready to give any assurance on battery duration, but even after 48 hrs of a full charging, the indicator showed full strength. Know why I couldn’t tell beyond 48 hrs? By the time I got fed up with the phone and replaced the SIM to my Sony Ericsson. You may not believe, but the phone takes a full six seconds to get the key pad activated. (With my S-E K 300i it is just a split second business.) This is too... too much and annoying. For this single reason I hesitate to recommend this phone.
The price of the phone is Rs 2650. Not bad. You may get better but ugly Nokias for that price. Is Sony Ericsson T105 still in market? If so that will be a better option. Or why you should insist that "Phone tho sirf bath karne keliye". This is a gadget you always carry with you. So some more technology accompanying is no harm. So better go for a next level phone (at least) - say like a Sony Ericsson K300i. Even though you need to pay twice the amount, that’s worth.
Another heart breaking discovery- This phone donot support picture messages! SO WHY WAIT? RUN!!!
