Big Refrigerator

I purchased this machine few days back from a big mall. The sales man was good at convincing and managed to sell the fridge with the features.


What we forgot to check was the back side.


The weight of this fridge is about 750 kilos.Only 2 thin men arrived with the fridge.I had to give them a hand to deliver it to my flat.I even had to give them chai pani (Rs.50)since they really looked tired.


When we checked the back we were taken for a surprise.


The back is steel coated and I’m sure its going to rust in a few years.


The bottom back side is open.The area near the compressor and once can see the compressor with the tubes supplying the gas.


The exposed part looks very ugly. and it also has a plastic tube with a small tray.We had asked this while buying whether we have to drain any water which would get accumulated over some time.However the sales man denied this.I’m still wondering for what reasons will that tray and pipe be used.I am just worried whether my fear doesn’t come true.


On the front side the fridge looks very good.It has a lock.The freezer is very roomy and the space is quite good in the lower half.I still think the noise is a little more than normal.All fridges make noise but it is usually after some years.I may be wrong with the noise feature.


Also the front door has a handle and its a little tight to open.I’m not complaining about this coz I know eventually it will become loose and easy to open.


The cooling is pretty good.


Please check the warranty as it doesn’t cover the plastic and rubber parts.


the compressor has 5 years warranty.


I received the fridge 2 days back on saturday and no one from the company has come to give a demo.It was informed to us that some engineer will come and give demo and also stamp the warranty card.


What we found that the reason for no one turning up for giving us the demo was that the dealer didn’t inform the company about our purchase.I called up their service center only to know that I have to call another number for the demos.After calling their demo line within an hour I had a man from Samsung to give us the demo.He did tell us that the dealer didn’t inform them about the purchase and hence the delay.He aslo advised us that there is space so that we can put up a net on the back side where its very ugly on the lower portion.Samsung should have done this already as I have to shell out the extra income.


Its time that I mention my dealer who happens to be the Center point at Mumbai Central.


I didn’t expect such a big mall to do something like this.Its a shame on their part.
