Hi guys, this is my first review on mouthshut and I chose Sgh c100 as my first review bcoz I have first hand experience on this product for the last 4 months and am very satisfied and happy with its performance. Now let’s get to business...........
I too was a Nokia fan & had used all the Nokia models rite frm 3310 upto 6100 and was quite happy with Nokia until I saw the Sleek and Sexy Samsung sgh c100.
I always wanted to buy this fone frm the day tht it was launched but was not in a position to experiment on it without some customer reviews. So one day I just searched for Sgh c100 in google n came across mouthshut.com.
I logged onto mouthshut n read all the reviews abt Sgh c100 (at tht time there were only 10 reviews out of which only 7 were for sgh c100 n 3 were against it). I got convinced based on the seven reviews to buy this fone. And I dont regret my choice now bcoz it is a very good fone.
In the review you mite find me comparing this fone to the nokia models many a times bcoz I have used nokias’ for a long time now. The details of this fone in brief are as below:-
SCREEN - 65K Too Good !!!
TONES - 40 Tone polyphony. You can also save tones sent frm other fones as well
SMS - 50 Message phone memory plus 10 templates. Supports EMS (pictures/long sms over sms)
Phonebook - Mamoth 500 number memory with 3 numbers per entry.
Calender - All your appointments go here
Games - 4 Games (2 java games which are at par with any nokia fone)
Looks - Too cool with blue key lights and 7 color service light on top.
Size - Sleek n Light and can fit into the tightest of the jean pockets with ease.
It’s also easy to use n a nokia user can get used to it very fast without any hassels. The features are also easy to get used to.
With the above excellent features I was bowled over by this cool fone n all my friends possessing a Nokia color fone were stumped with the clarity of its wonderful display.
With a Price Tag of 6500/- with bill n one year samsung India warranty it was a good bargain when compared to other nokia fones in the same bracket (3100- too plasticky n costly, 6610 - a good fone but too costly at tht time at 10k).
So anybody planning to buy a color display, feature-rich fone within 7000/- the samsung sgh c100 is a very good fone.
Now for the BIG QUESTION - BATTERY BACK UP ?? - Well for an average user like me who uses the fone for calls, messages n games a 36 hour back up is a good one but does not meet up to the Nokia fones on this parameter but when considering all the other features it does not matter tht much. But if you use GPRS a lot then u can only get 24 - 28 hrs back up which is quite less. ONLY ONE OF THE SMALL DISAPPOINTMENTS OF THE FONE.
But the bottom line is it is a superb fone, best in its class n I am very satisfied with the performance of the fone and can surely recomend this fone for any prospective buyer of a new color fone.
