Well, I bought samsung D500 in april 05........the phone is small....and as far as looks are concerned this phone is like aishwarya rai...(;-))
the colour display is very very fine in comparision to all nokia models....the speaker quality is just amazing....pics taken through this phone are good and colours are amazing....really....
the games are good , u can listen to mp3 songs and make these as ringtones too.Videos are ok on this phone...
Below I m going to mention its drawbacks as compared to nokia phones, , ,
(1) Software support is almost nil...this phone doesnt support .sis, .jar files...so, u cant dowload games like u can do it on nokia phones..
(2) .wav files are not supported content on this phone...nokia accepts .wav files...
wav files are most popular version of ringtones today and these r small too.
(3) Vibration and tones cant b used one time....If u choose ’’vibrate and melody’’ mode....this phone will vibrate first for 3 times and then ring the tone....whereas in nokia phones vibration and tones can go side by side.
(4) Screen size is very small.....whats the benefit of watching videos when u have got such a small screen...even ordinary nokia models like 3650/3660 have much biger screen.So...no fun watching videos on this cell
(5) This phone doesn’t supports themes....which almost all nokia phones of this range does....so, get prepared for boring same trend tdy and always..
(6)The memory of this phone cant be extended or upgraded.....so, u have to keep on deleting old files to get new ones...nokia smart phones have memory cards., .so..memory is not a problem with nokia.It has only 96 mb of memory in all.
(7) The phones back portion(*battery portion) gets scratched very easily...u cant change the body...so, after a months use, get prepared to live with those ugly scratches.
(8) U cant edit any message if u want to forward it...u have to send it as it is......in nokia phones u can easily edit any message b4 forwarding.
(9) WORST FEATURE (or I shud call it disadvantage) :- You cannot copy your phonebook from phone to SIM card, only other way around, as if the SGH-D500 is the only phone you’ll ever have for the rest of your life. And what if you accidentally damage your phone? What about your phonebook?
(10) Sms tones are limited..except the given ones...u cant use any other tone as ur SMs alert tone......even ordinary nokia cells have this feature..
(11) The parts of d500 are much costier in comparision to nokia ones....so, get prepared for big holes in ur pocket if this phone starts giving some problem...
anyways, I was able to make this comparision as I have used nokia 3660 and 6600 before this phone....
